evening shadows
porchlights bright
evening walking
dog by my side
no longer hungry
not yet tired
it's eight o'clock
and I'm just fine
sunset's gone
the sky still glows
evening strolling
moving along slow
no longer thinking
not yet asleep
it's eight o'clock
shadows are deep
windows are lit
people sit outside
couples move in silence
I linger and smile
not longer lonely
yet still alone
eight o'clock
soon I'll head home
eight o'clock
eight o'clock
the best time
the very best time
evening shadows
porchlights bright
evening walking
dog by my side
no longer hungry
not yet tired
eight o'clock
and I'm just fine
