         and a stand with a doll . . .

Feeling Possibilities

I remember a carnival
         and a stand with a doll
that kept popping up
         each time it was
                  knocked over

In a way
         that's how I feel
as if something in me
         strong, centered, real
keeps bringing me back to myself
         ready to go onward

I do want to avoid
         being like that doll
         over and over, knocked over
I would rather be given
         cheers and celebration
         hugs and kisses


Still
if I do get knocked over
         I'd rather not be crushed
                  or prematurely go bust
                           my face in the dust
when so much can still
         be in store for me


I have hope
         that is real
I know
         that I feel
                  possibilities

I know
         from deep inside
         I'm open wide
                  to possibilities


so I strive
to bring alive
         in myself
         in the world

                  dreams
                  desires
                  possibilities


I know how I feel
         I feel strong
                  yet open
This is real
         coming from
                  my center


Yes
I remember a carnival
         and a stand with a doll
that kept popping up
         each time it was
                  knocked over


I have hope
         that is real
and I know
         that I feel
                  possibilities

and I strive
to bring alive

         dreams
         desires
         possibilities

                  amazing blazing
                  fabulous fantastic
                  wonderful

I wake up, feeling possibilities.
An image in my mind:
a doll at a carnival.
I start writing
a hope and encouragement poem.
Looking for upbeat positive poems?

Poem of Possibility

I don't sit down and say to myself:
time for a poem of hope,
time for words of encouragement

I wake up, with an image inside me -
an image of a doll at a carnival -
and with words inside me.

In a way,
that's how I feel


Then the question comes:
how to tell others
about these words,
these words about the doll at the carnival,
and about how I feel.

Hmm, poems about hope,
encouragement poem.

I could also say -
hope springs eternal -
though it doesn't actually

But that's another story,
another word piece,
another piece of poetry.

This time, words of encouragement,
a poem about hope.
