in the way you place your hand on my face in your embrace and in your gaze Tenderness in the way you place your hands around mine time after time such tenderness Tenderness in how you hold in how you touch You make me feel safe in your embrace with your touch on my face in the way you place your hands over mine time after time hands soft and strong Tenderness I feel sadness Tears come to my eyes as I lie by your side Softness flows throughout me but I know you can see the sadness tears in my eyes as I lie by your side feeling your touch not sure how much there can be between us not sure how long we'll feel we belong side by side and yet sure of your Tenderness in the way you place your hand on my face in your embrace in your touch and your eyes And yet not just tenderness You have a searching gaze as you look at my face deep into my eye I try not to hide to let you inside and to reach you with my soft touch that tells you how much I warm to your embrace to the way you place your hands around mine your face against mine time after time in the way you explore touch hold so much more Softness I know you can feel the softness that flows throughout me almost enough to make us feel love Tenderness I feel sadness Old pain arises again as you hold me close almost enough to erase the ache which ebbs but takes a long time to fade Meanwhile tenderness
